AP CM Proposes Health Innovation Center to Bill Gates at WEF Davos

The AP CM proposed setting up a Center of Excellence for Health Innovation and Diagnostics in Andhra Pradesh, highlighting its potential to improve healthcare services in the state.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has recently met Bill Gates, Founder of Microsoft and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum summit in Davos.

The discussion centered around the possibility of forming partnerships to transform Andhra Pradesh into a global hub for health, education, and innovation.

During the meeting, Naidu proposed the establishment of a Center of Excellence for Health Innovation and Diagnostics in the state.

He emphasized that the center could offer cutting-edge healthcare services and help improve public health outcomes through innovation. Naidu also invited Gates to join the advisory board of an upcoming Artificial Intelligence University in Andhra Pradesh, a project aimed at making the state a leader in AI research and development.

Additionally, the Chief Minister expressed interest in implementing successful BMGF programs such as health dashboards and social initiatives in the state. He assured Gates that Andhra Pradesh could act as a gateway for the foundation’s initiatives across South India, amplifying their reach and impact.

"I am delighted to meet Bill Gates again after a long time. His focus on technology and innovation has been an inspiration to all. We discussed opportunities for collaboration in health and AI innovation, and I look forward to BMGF's partnership in Andhra Pradesh's progress," said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

Additionally, Naidu met Roberto Bocca, Head of the Center for Energy and Materials (Cenmat), to discuss attracting investments in green hydrogen, battery storage, and solar manufacturing. He also sought WEF's support for setting up a Clean Energy Knowledge and Skill Development Center in Andhra Pradesh
