Apollo Hospital, Indore, has signed an MoU with Medtronic India to establish a specialized Renal Denervation Therapy Center to manage resistant and uncontrolled hypertension.

The collaboration aims to improve clinical intervention for patients unresponsive to conventional hypertension medication and enhance training for healthcare professionals on non-pharmacological treatment strategies.

Training and Awareness as Key Pillars

Per the release, the center will also function as a training and education hub. Additionally, joint professional workshops and public awareness programs will be conducted to improve clinical skills and increase patient awareness about hypertension management.

“Worldwide, more than 1 billion adults aged 30-79 have hypertension. Only 20% have their condition under control. Increasing awareness and proactive intervention are critical,” said Dr. Roshan Rao, Head, Cardiology, Apollo Hospitals Indore.

According to the National Health Mission, hypertension is a leading cause of ischemic heart disease and stroke in India, accounting for 1.6 million deaths annually.

By integrating training and patient education, we aim to improve outcomes and deliver more effective care.”

Clinical operations and community outreach activities at the centre will be rolled out in phases.
