The Delhi government has earmarked INR 6,874 Cr for the health sector in its 2025-26 Budget, with a focus on strengthening healthcare infrastructure, expanding wellness centers, and improving critical care services.

Investment in Digital Health & Hospital Infrastructure

The Budget also includes INR 10 Cr for the Ayushman Digital Mission, an initiative designed to modernize medical records and create an integrated healthcare data system for better patient management.

Gupta stated that this digital push would streamline services and enhance healthcare efficiency across the city.

Additionally, the government has set aside INR 1,000 Cr for the construction of 10 to 13 new hospitals, with plans to fast-track their completion.

This move aims to address the growing demand for healthcare facilities and reduce the burden on existing hospitals.

Gupta criticized the previous AAP-led government’s handling of healthcare, alleging that 24 projects initiated by the former administration had little impact.

She emphasized her government’s resolve to build a robust and accessible healthcare system for Delhi.

This marks the first Budget presented by a BJP-led government in Delhi in over 26 years, following the party’s victory over AAP in the recent Assembly elections.
