Entero's latest HealthEdge program aims to offer faster medicine supplies, better inventory management, and exclusive access to high-margin deals.

In a significant move to counter the quick commerce disruption in India's $50 billion pharmaceutical market, healthcare distribution platform Entero Health has acquired the Aayu Chemist app and MedCords platform.

While the financials remain undisclosed, the acquisition aims to digitally empower over 86,000 retail chemists across the country.

"This move accelerates the digitalization of retail chemists, equipping them with cutting-edge tools to enhance business efficiency, profitability, and customer engagement," said Prabhat Agrawal, MD & CEO of Entero Healthcare.

Further, Entero's latest HealthEdge program aims to offer faster medicine supplies, better inventory management, and exclusive access to high-margin deals.

Features such as expiry management, auto-refill systems, loyalty programs, and e-payments are expected to help chemists stay competitive, as stated by the company.

"The HealthEdge programme aligns perfectly with our vision to be a growth catalyst for retail chemists. Through this digital enablement, we empower chemists to stay ahead of the curve, ensuring their businesses are resilient and primed for significant growth. Retail chemists are invited to become part of the 'HealthEdge' ecosystem, and together, we will shape a future where technology and healthcare distribution work hand-in-hand to unlock new levels of success," CEO Agrawal added.

Why Entero is Betting Big on Digital Transformation?

With platforms like Tata 1mg, PharmEasy, and Flipkart Health+ rapidly expanding, traditional chemists face mounting pressure to modernize. Entero aims to bridge this gap by offering digital tools to optimize logistics, reduce wastage, and enhance customer retention.

The company's HealthEdge initiative aligns with its vision to be a "growth catalyst for retail chemists," ensuring they remain relevant in a rapidly evolving market.

Sharing thoughts, Shreyans, Co-Founder of Aayu Chemist by MedCords, said, "Quick commerce, with its focus on rapid delivery of everyday essentials, is impacting kirana and chemist shops in India by attracting customers seeking convenience, leading to a shift in consumer spending and potentially impacting the livelihoods of small business owners. Our journey with MedCords has always centred around empowering retail chemists, the backbone of India's healthcare system. Partnering with Entero amplifies this mission, bringing our technology and expertise to a broader network, ensuring lakhs of chemists benefit from future-ready solutions."

As the quick commerce space continues to attract new players, Entero's tech-driven approach seeks to safeguard the business interests of its extensive chemist network.
