GE HealthCare Appoints Jeannette Bankes as CEO of Patient Care Solutions
Bankes will officially assume the role on May 1, 2025, as longtime executive Tom Westrick prepares to retire.
GE HealthCare has appointed Jeannette Bankes as the new president and CEO of its Patient Care Solutions (PCS) segment.
Bankes will officially assume the role on May 1, 2025, as longtime executive Tom Westrick prepares to retire.
Westrick, who has spent over two decades at GE HealthCare, will remain with the company through May 31, 2025, to facilitate a smooth transition.
Extensive Healthcare Industry Experience
Bankes brings over 30 years of healthcare sector experience across multiple disciplines, including product management, marketing, sales, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and operations. She most recently served as senior vice president and president of Global Franchises at Alcon, where she led product development, portfolio management, and the commercialization of surgical, vision care, and ocular health offerings.
Her earlier career includes leadership roles at Boston Scientific and Merck, expanding her background in medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Bankes will be based in Waukesha, Wisconsin, as she steps into her new role at GE HealthCare.

The leadership change aligns with GE HealthCare’s ongoing focus on precision care and operational integration within its business segments. The Patient Care Solutions unit is central to the company’s clinical offerings, supporting key areas such as monitoring and diagnostics.
In addition to the leadership transition, GE HealthCare recently announced its membership in OR.NET e.V., a global organization promoting interoperability and device integration in medical technology systems.
Bankes’ appointment comes as GE HealthCare continues to position itself around digital innovation and clinical efficiency. The company has emphasized the importance of leadership that can steer growth across core healthcare delivery platforms.
