India aims to collaborate on health ties with the WHO, prioritizing women’s wellness, says PM Modi on his 75th birthday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that India looks forward to deepening collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).

The partnership aims to promote holistic health worldwide, with a special focus on women’s wellness.

The announcement came in response to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus' wishes on the PM's 75th birthday.

Major Initiatives on PM’s Birthday

In Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi formally launched the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, a nationwide campaign targeting women’s and family health. Aligning with the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, the campaign will continue until October 2.

It seeks to deliver preventive, diagnostic, and awareness services through India’s government health facilities, focusing especially on women’s nutrition and wellness.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) announced the transformation of 300 existing healthcare centers into Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs. Of these, 41 upgraded facilities were inaugurated, while 19 more are set to be launched on September 30.

The cost of all upgrades is being fully funded by the Delhi government, ensuring improved access to quality healthcare for local communities.

Marking the occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a state-level health campaign at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Scientific Convention Centre, King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow.

As part of the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar program, the state will organize over 20,000 health camps aimed at creating a mass movement around women’s health and family wellness.

The coinciding launches across states demonstrate a unified national effort to address women’s health concerns, boost public awareness, and provide community-centric healthcare solutions.
