This move aims to streamline procurement, improve maintenance tracking, and ensure timely servicing or replacement of faulty medical infrastructure.

The Karnataka government has directed all public healthcare institutions under its health department to upload comprehensive details of their medical equipment on the state’s eProcurement portal.

In addition to logging current inventories, hospitals must submit requisitions for new equipment and report any faults or non-functional devices through the same digital system.

The directive, issued via an official order on June 24th, applies to equipment sourced locally and supplied by the health department.

This move aims to streamline procurement, improve maintenance tracking, and ensure timely servicing or replacement of faulty medical infrastructure.

As per the government order, the assistant or deputy director of the eArogya platform will act as the state nodal officer for the initiative. At the district level, vector-borne disease control programme officers will serve as the nodal points of contact.

The Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (KSMSCL) has been assigned to manage the eProcurement process. It will also issue specific implementation guidelines to facilitate compliance by all concerned institutions.
