The Health Department has called on residents of Mohali district to register for their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID, a unique digital health identity designed to simplify access to healthcare services and records.

Civil Surgeon Dr Sangeeta Jain highlighted the multiple benefits of obtaining an ABHA ID, stating, “An ABHA ID offers several advantages, including easy access to digital health records and secure data sharing. It also allows individuals to link with various healthcare schemes and avail AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) treatment services.”

She further noted that ABHA ID holders can avoid long queues at government hospitals, with separate counters available for generating OPD slips.

“Additionally, patients no longer need to carry physical copies of their medical reports when visiting doctors, as their health records are digitally accessible through their ABHA ID,” Dr Jain added.

Positioning the health account on par with the Aadhaar card in importance, Dr Jain urged citizens to register at their nearest government healthcare center or through ASHA workers.

She also clarified that individuals can self-register for free via the official portal: [www.abha.abdm.gov.in](http://www.abha.abdm.gov.in).

The District Health Department is actively facilitating on-ground registration drives, aiming to strengthen digital health infrastructure and improve healthcare delivery across Mohali.
