PM Modi noted that India's integration of digital tools into healthcare has brought about significant progress in service delivery and accessibility.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva via video message on Tuesday, underscoring the transformative role of technology in improving health outcomes.

He noted that India's integration of digital tools into healthcare has brought about significant progress in service delivery and accessibility.

"We have a digital platform to track the vaccination of pregnant women and children," said Modi, adding that millions of Indians now have unique digital health identities, which help integrate healthcare benefits, insurance, records, and information.

340 Million Consultations via Free Telemedicine

Highlighting India's rapidly expanding telemedicine infrastructure, the Prime Minister said, "Our free telemedicine service has enabled over 340 million consultations, ensuring that no one is too far from a doctor."

PM Modi reaffirmed India's commitment to inclusive healthcare through the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the world's largest health insurance initiative, which covers 580 million people and provides free treatment.

He also spoke about India's vast network of health and wellness centres, which support early screening and detection of diseases like cancer, diabetes, and hypertension.

In his 2023 address, he reiterated the need for inclusion, an integrated vision, and global collaboration under the theme of 'One Earth, One Health' to create a healthier world.
