Hyderabad-based Red.Health, a medical emergency response startup, has launched a direct-to-consumer subscription service, RED Family Protect to bridge the gap in reliable and affordable emergency medical care across India.

Founded in 2016 by Prabhdeep Singh, the startup operates air and road ambulances to serve inter- and intra-city emergency needs.

Per the startup, the service targets elderly family members whose children live away, addressing concerns about medical emergencies.

RED Family Protect’s Subscription Model

The subscription model offers tailored emergency care plans, providing peace of mind for those often anxious about being absent during critical situations. Initially, the service is free for the first three months.

When a call is placed to the 24/7 dedicated helpline, a trained agent immediately dispatches a JCI-accredited ambulance to the registered address.

The protocol guarantees an ambulance and paramedic arrive within 15 minutes and offers unlimited trips within a 100-km radius. The paramedic stabilizes the patient, assists with boarding, and coordinates with an on-call doctor.

At the same time, real-time updates are provided to the user and local family members throughout the journey to the hospital.

Additional Services & Support

The service also includes access to emergency doctors via phone or video, hassle-free hospital admission coordination, and a dedicated care manager for a concierge-like experience for elderly patients.

These services ensure a seamless and supportive emergency response system for subscribers.

Commenting on the initiative, Prabhdeep Singh, founder & CEO of RED.Health, said, “We have developed this service with a deep understanding of the unique challenges families face, especially those with loved ones living abroad. We aim to provide unparalleled peace of mind and a comprehensive support system through rapid, high-quality care in critical moments.”

RED.Health’s Recent Funding

In May this year, Red.Health raised $20 million in a Series B funding round. Jungle Ventures led the investment, which included equity and debt financing, and existing and new investors such as Alteria Capital, HealthQuad, and HealthX participated.

In another development, tech-first insurer ACKO partnered with RED.Health to offer ambulance booking services through the ACKO mobile application. This feature, currently available in Bengaluru, aims to provide critical assistance during medical emergencies.

ACKO plans to extend this service to other major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
